Vivian N. Carlson, age 95 of Lima, died at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 in Cridersville Health Care. She was born July 4, 1915 in Centennial, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Acie Alford and Vinia Ocie Nicholas Wickline. Both parents are deceased. She was formerly married to Gunnar Carlson, who died in 1967.
Mrs. Carlson retired in 1980 from Duff Truck Lines and worked from 1954 to 1964 for the Leader Store in Lima. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where she had been the church treasurer for 13 years and was a member of the Ladies Mission Circle. She belonged to the Lima Senior Citizens.
She is survived by 1 son – Dale E. (Helen) Carlson of Wapakoneta; 4 daughters – Wanda Shaw of Waynesfield; Donna Burden of Cridersville; Linda Hurles of Fernly, Nevada; Mary (Jerry) Bowersock of Wapakoneta; 10 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great Great Grandchildren;1 brother – Alfred L. Wickline of Galesburg, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers – Robert L. Wickline and Donald G. Wickline; 3 son-in-laws – Frank Shaw; Bob Burden; and Bill Hurles; a grandson – David Shaw; and twin great granddaughters – Jessica and Andrea Renee Ackerman.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Pastor Arthur J. Alexander and Craig A. Burden. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Baptist Church or the activities fund at Cridersville Health Care.
