Walter A. Lange, age 86, of Lima died 7:15 a.m., Monday Dec. 13 at Otterbein-Cridersville. He was born Feb. 7, 1924 In Lima to August Paul and Lena Wilhelmena Kuckherman Lange, both parents are deceased. He married Margery Athene Baber May 22, 1943 and she preceded him in death June 4, 2004.
Survivors include a son: Dennis (Terry) Lange of Lima, 3 daughters: Kathy E. (Steven) Niebel of Coral Springs, Fl, Paula A. Hughes and Shelley A. (John) Gould both of Lima, 7 grandchildren: Daryl (Susan) Lange, Michele (Barry) MacKinnon, Trevor Hughes, Joshua (Shannon) Gould, Troy Hughes, Stacy Gould and Timothy Gould and 5 great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Scott Niebel and 2 brothers: Frederick Karl and Eric Lange.
Mr. Lange had been a brick mason for Tuttle Construction Company and a farmer. He was a member of The First Evangelical and Reformed Church of Lima and had served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He belonged to B. P. O. E. # 54, Eagles Lodge, Aerie 4151, American Legion Post 96 and the Ft. Amanda Lodge 706 F. & A. M.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday Dec. 17 at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Rinehart officiating and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum where military rites will be given by V. F. W. Post 8445.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Allen County Special Olympics ,
