Wayne A. Pence age 65, of Lima passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at
Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 12, 1955 in Lima to the late
Norman and Marilyn Shawler Pence. He married Chrys Basinger Oct. 14,
1983 and she preceded him in death March 20, 2017.
Wayne had been a forklift driver for Wright’s Distribution. He was
member of the Eagles, enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He
coached midget league football for 9 years and loved going out to eat. He was happiest laughing among friends and family whilst holding a rum and coke.
He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and
Cincinnati Reds.
Survivors include children: Joe (Erin) Pence of Lebanon, OH, Nikki
(Daniel) Reichelderfer of Lima and Alex (Erin) Pence of Gahanna, Ohio,
5 grandchildren (Kara, Wyatt, Hannah, Nora and Lila) a brother, Dave (Joan) Pence of Oregon, Ohio and a sister, Shari
(Rob) Waltz of Lima.
The family will receive friends 1 -3 p.m. Monday Dec. 21 at Bayliff &
Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Wayne was not a fan of dressing up, but he was a Brown’s fan, so feel free to wear your best Browns’ attire. A private memorial will follow at 3 with
Charlotte Hefner officiating. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at the FOP hall in Lima at 4:00 pm and is open to all. Memorial contributions may be given to
Hospice of Dayton.
