William E. Vaughn, age 80 of Findlay and formerly of Uniopolis, passed at 10:02 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Findlay. He was born September 3, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to the late William E. and Bonnie Rutherford Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was a retired tank driver with Amerigas and had served time with the Merchant Marines. He was owner and operator of Bam Baits Lure Company in Uniopolis, having 70 stores between Uniopolis and Lake Erie in Michigan. Most recently he had worked in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay for 3 years. He will be remembered for being competitive and loving life. Some of his competitive hobbies were fishing, playing poker, and going to the casinos. His greatest pride was his family and spending time with them.
Surviving are 5 children – Kenneth R. (Angie) Vaughn of Wapakoneta; Barbara A. (Bryan) Miller of Uniopolis; Alice M. Vaughn of Findlay; William R. (Sheba) Vaughn of Lima; Tammy E. (Billy) James of Annapolis, MD; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son – William Allen Vaughn; a sister – Mary Louise Riffe; and his former wife Donna Logan Vaughn, who passed January 15, 2021.
Memorial services will begin 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2020 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s, Mercy Health Hospice.
